Animal spotting as of May 13th : (32) moose, (47) bald eagles, (3) red fox, (3) seals, (20) deer, (1) cat track the size of your fist, (1) blue jay, (1) owl, (100) chipmunks- they are everywhere!!, (3) beavers, (1) woodpecker and countless flocks of birds moving through
Wow, what a week! Today I realized that I am working 15+ hour days – this combined with too many thoughts and checklists running through my mind, I have been limiting my sleep to 3 hours per night. The Keltic Lodge is taking shape at the hands of some truly passionate people. The hallways which were quiet a month ago are now busy with people and projects. Over the past week, my team and I moved 17,000lbs+ of furniture, completed more projects than I can count and have had 19 full days of preparation… this is all before our wonderful guests see the Keltic Lodge again for the first time. What a great feeling!
First moose spotting in a while
It sounds a bit cliché, never the less I strive to learn something new as often as possible and this week I did learn two things:
1. That mountains can be moved by a team of amazing individuals working together.
2. I spoke with a guest this week who had been coming to the Keltic Lodge for 17 years and was going to try something else this year due to some small issues. He was kind enough to call me a inform me that he was coming back this year because of the changes we are making. He actually thanked me for preserving this property. This gentlemen taught me that you never know when your efforts will reach the end. So I will continue to spend the time required to deliver an experience I believe in.
